Funding to support technology use and development may come from both public and private sector sources. The first step in taking advantage of technology funding opportunities is to become familiar with the types of funding available, which include the following:

  • Federal monies offered by agencies and programs of the U.S. government

  • Grants from U.S. companies and philanthropic organizations

  • Technology grants for cities, to benefit municipal entities and initiatives

  • Technology funding for public and private libraries

  • Fundraisers for generating donations of money and supplies
