Chapter 7: Formatting Business Messages

Chapter Summary
Chapter 7 discusses and illustrates the formats for business messages. Business letters, memos, and e-mails, which have varying formats, can be prepared on plain paper, preprinted forms, or software templates.

In this chapter, you will examine the parts of a business letter-heading, opening, body, and closing-and the guidelines for formatting these parts correctly. The two basic letter styles, modified-block and block, will be explained, as will the proper method for folding letters for business envelopes.

The Chapter 7 online resources will reinforce and enhance your study of the formatting of business messages.
