Introduction
In this chapter you learned that Portugal was a pioneer in the European exploration of new trade routes. Portugal's Prince Henry was determined to pursue new trade routes, and this led to new discoveries and methods of exploration. Although he never boarded a ship in search of new adventures, Henry sponsored and encouraged the continuation of European discovery. 5.  It is 1460, and Prince Henry the Navigator has died. You have been appointed to write a notice of his death to share with the townspeople. On a separate sheet of paper, write the notice of his death, being sure to include his motivations and accomplishments. Remind the royal subjects of the ways in which he promoted European exploration.
