Introduction
In Chapter 5, you read about the missions and presidios that the Spanish settled in Texas. The first permanent settlement of Europeans in Texas was the mission of Corpus Christi de la Ysleta, located near present-day El Paso. This mission still stands today. In this activity, you will read about the mission and see what it looks like.
