Fine Artist
Description of Responsibilities
Fine artists work independently as painters, sculptors, printmakers, weavers, or jewelers, to name a few. Such artists create art on their own terms. Sometimes they are also paid, or commissioned, to create artworks for others. Some fine artists display their work in museums, commercial art galleries, corporate collections, and private homes. They may create artwork specially for individual clients, but more often they sell their artwork though art galleries or dealers. Most fine artists must work a second job to support their art career. Commercial art fields and art education are common second jobs for fine artists.
