Multimedia Designer

Description of Responsibilities
Multimedia designers create interactive CD-ROMs and software for business, education, and entertainment. They also make visually appealing presentations by combining text, graphics, sound, and interactive devices. Businesses often use these presentations to acquire new clients. Multimedia designers must create projects that are original, well organized, and accessible. Teamwork is often an integral element of multimedia production.

Education, Training, and Professional Qualifications
A bachelor's degree or technical certificate in multimedia design is recommended for this field. Design courses are often useful. A portfolio of artwork is needed when applying for design courses.

Other Considerations
A multimedia designer must be skilled in computer work and interactive media such as CD-ROMs. Knowledge of format and image computer programs is also useful.
