When you consider what influences your personality or habits, you might
come up with things like the
area you live in, your family, the events happening in your life, the
people you associate with, and so on. Artists are influenced by those
very same factors when creating their art.
Artists are also influenced by other artists. Musicians, writers, filmmakers,
painters, and all types of artists often say that they are profoundly
influenced by the work of other artists. In this Art Quest, you will find
out which artist was influenced by Edgar Degas, whose Ballet Dancer
appears on the right.
