Chapter
Twenty-Two: City
Life versus Country Life
Malika
was born in New York City. Ever since she was a little girl,
she rode the subway, spent time in art galleries and museums,
and the theater. She has lived in a high-rise apartment her
entire life. Malika loves the city. Reginald grew up in rural
Minnesota. His childhood was spent fishing, kayaking, and
cross country skiing. Reginald still lives on the 100-acre
farm his grandparents own. He takes care of the farm and just
loves the fresh air, the peaceful community, and the wildlife.

What
do you think would happen if Malika moved to rural Minnesota
and Reginald moved to New York City? Do you think they would
be unhappy with such different lifestyles? Imagine you have
to move somewhere very different from where you live now.
What would you do to adjust to the change?
