The
Social Security Administration has a free teaching
kit for high school students called Social Security and
You. It consists of five lessons plus an overview and
includes factsheets, handouts, and quizzes. A 25-minute videotape
is also available. You can download the text from the Social
Security Administration Web site www.ssa.gov
or you can receive the kit, including the video, by sending
a blank 60 minute VHS videotape with your mailing information
to: Social Security, 4-J-8 WHR, Baltimore, MD 21235. Be sure
to mention that you would like the tape duplicated.

there is an estate-planning guide. It is a basic primer on
financial planning and includes the topics 401(k), IRAs, Social
Security, After Retirement, Estate Planning, Calculators,
Discussion Groups, and Organization.
The

www.jumpstartcoalition.org
The Jumpstart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy seeks
to improve the personal financial literacy of young adults.
Its purpose is to evaluate the financial literacy of young
adults; develop, disseminate, and encourage the use of guidelines
for grades K-12; and promote the teaching of personal finance.
Its Web site provides a searchable database of educational

The
public radio program, Sound Money, frequently features
financial planning for retirement. For a list of programs,

is the Web site for the National Center for Financial Education.
It is a consumer-oriented, nonprofit, public education organization
that offers articles and worksheets on topics, such as spending
perception and creating a spending plan.
