APICS (which in 1957 stood for American Production and Inventory Control Society) is now known as the Educational Society for Resources Management. At their Web site, www.apics.org, you can find out about workshops and access publications dedicated to the education and professional certification of managers in areas such as materials management, information services, and purchasing.

www.jumpstartcoalition.org The Jumpstart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy seeks to improve the personal financial literacy of young adults. Its purpose is to evaluate the financial literacy of young adults; develop, disseminate, and encourage the use of guidelines for grades K-12; and promote the teaching of personal finance. www.ncfe.org is the Web site for the National Center for Financial Education. It is a consumer-oriented, nonprofit, public education organization that offers articles and worksheets on topics, such as spending perception and creating a spending plan.
