The Business Math Self-Assessment pages are an easy, flexible, and sound
way to integrate mathematics into the small business classroom. One Business
Math Self-Assessment activity has been written for each chapter of Glencoe's
Entrepreneurship textbook. The activities have been designed to
perform several functions:
1.
Put students in the place of entrepreneurs, and show them the math skills
required to operate a small business.
2. Allow students to practice the steps and concepts described in the
Entrepreneurship textbook.
3. Indicate that students take inventory of their skills and see which
skills they need to improve.
Although
every activity has been programmed to run online (students click on multiple-choice
answers, which show up as correct or incorrect), the Web pages can be
printed out and used as worksheets or projected as a group activity. Use
these activities in the way that best suits your classroom situation.
