Interview a Professional
Visit a lawyer or medical doctor and interview him/her about the uses of online researching for that profession. Can you think of other professions that might use online research? Perhaps your teacher will invite a professional to speak to your class about how he or she does research in their work.
Investigate Information Available on the WWW
Investigate the resources available on the WWW. As of the writing of this book, most major departments maintain Web sites with an astonishing amount of information (Department of Agriculture, Department of Education, NASA Space Center, Center for Disease Control). When you log on to one of these web sites, investigate what information is available. You will find extensive data about usage, demographics, flights in space, labor statistics, as well as a wide variety of other interesting facts.
