Activity 5: Bluebonnets and Lone Stars: The Symbols of Texas
Annabel, a seventh grader from Austin, Texas, created this animated slide show for a celebration of Texas Independence Day at the state capitol. The slide show explains the meanings behind some popular Texas symbols, including the cowboy hat, longhorn, and bluebonnet. (PowerPoint)

Activity 110: The Value of Estimating
Ilana, a sixth grader from New York, New York, used a spreadsheet application to help her choose snacks to have at a movie party. In making her choices, she considered the per-unit costs of numerous options, the number of party guests, and the overall combination of snacks. (Excel)
