5: Bluebonnets and Lone Stars: The Symbols of Texas
Annabel, a seventh grader from Austin, Texas, created this
animated slide show for a celebration of Texas Independence
Day at the state capitol. The slide show explains the meanings
behind some popular Texas symbols, including the cowboy hat,

Eoghan, a sixth grader from Ashland, Oregon, wrote this poem
for a birthday card. He used a word processing application

Nikki, an eighth grader from Cincinnati, Ohio, used animation
and sound effects in this presentation commemorating African-American

Ilana, a sixth grader from New York, New York, used a spreadsheet
application to help her choose snacks to have at a movie party.
In making her choices, she considered the per-unit costs of
numerous options, the number of party guests, and the overall
