National Child Care Information Center
The National Child Care Information Center (NCCIC) links information and people to complement, enhance, and promote the childcare delivery system, working to ensure that all children and families have access to high-quality comprehensive services.

Child Care Bureau
As part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Child Care Bureau (CCB) is dedicated to enhancing the quality, affordability, and availability of child care for all families.

Bright Horizons Family Solutions
This company provides employer-sponsored child care and early education programs. The site offers useful information related to child care.

National Network for Child Care
The Web site for the National Network for Child Care Provides over 1000 childcare publications and resources for parents, professionals, practitioners, and the general public. This Web site also includes information on family childcare, center-based care, and school-age childcare.

Council for Professional Recognition
The Council works to improve the professional status of early childhood workers and helps to meet the growing need for qualified child care staff. The Council sponsors the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.

National Association for the Education of Young Children

The Center for Early Childhood Leadership

Child Care Nutrition Resource System
The Web site for The Child Care Nutrition Resource System provides recipes, resources, and information on preparing nutritious meals and food safety. Day care providers can use this helpful information in conjunction with the Child and Adult Food Program.

Child and Adult Care Food Program
The USDA’s Child and Adult Care Food Programs plays a vital role in improving the quality of day care and making it affordable for many low-income families. About 2.6 million children receive daily meals and snacks through CACFP.

National AfterSchool Association
This association is a national organization representing public, private, and community-based providers of after-school programs. The Alliance promotes national standards of quality school-age care for children and youth 5 to 14 years of age.

Caldecott Medal

National Wildlife Federation: kidzone
This interactive Web site is for those children interested in wildlife. The site is divided into sections according to the age of the child: 1-3; 3-7; 7-13; and 13 and up. A newsletter is also available.

Smithsonian Kids Collecting
This Web site is related to collecting rocks and minerals, stamps, coins, and unusual collections.

Scholastic Kids
This site provides a wide variety of interactive activities for kids.

US Mint H.I.P. Pocket Change

Americans with Disabilities Act
The ADA home page contains resources concerning accessibility for people with disabilities. The site provides information about ADA regulations, education, employment, and parks and recreation, etc. Information about developing accessible play yards can also be found at this site.

Children’s Defense Fund
The Web site for the Children’s Defense Fund contains numerous resources to help ensure the healthy growth and development of children to a successful passage to adulthood.

Parents Action for Children
Formerly the I Am Your Child Foundation, this is a national, non-profit organization that raises awareness about the importance of early childhood development and school readiness. The site provides a variety of resources for parents, early childhood professionals, child advocates, and health care providers.

National Black Child Development Institute
The NBCDI provides and supports programs, workshops, and resources for African-American children, their parents, and their communities in early health and education, health, elementary and secondary education, child welfare, and parenting.

National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome
