National Standards Correlations

The National Health Education Standards were created with the goal of improving educational achievement for students and improving health in the United States through the promotion of health literacy.

The Health Standards detail the knowledge and skills essential to the development of health literacy in the form of performance indicators.

The correlations demonstrate how Teen Health meets these criteria for middle school students. You can see them organized in two ways:

  • Chapters and Lessons that meet each of the National Health Education Standards (Correlation by Standards)

  • National Health Education Standards that are addressed in each Chapter and Lesson. For correlation by Chapters and Lessons, use the pull-down menu below.
