Stop Drinking and Driving

Hands-On-Health

Here is a sobering riddle: What do you think is the leading cause of death among teenagers? If you guessed "Driving while under the influence of alcohol," you are right--sadly enough. Each day, 11 teenagers die and more than 350 are hurt in motor vehicle crashes in which alcohol was a factor. Drunk driving is a problem that affects the drinker, but it also places passengers and occupants of other vehicles on the road at risk.

Try This: How can you arm yourself and those you care about against the threat of becoming a DUI statistic? One way is to learn the facts about drinking and driving in your part of the country and to express your findings in a way that hits home. To start, click on the button that will print out your worksheet. Read the directions at the top of the worksheet, and after selecting one of the options, visit one or both of the Web sites listed below under Health Links.
