Hands-On-Health
If you saw a fire raging out of control, you would notify the fire department. Yet, a million teens each year witness such a blaze and, rather than sounding the alarm, they become victims. The blaze in question comes from the lighting of a cigarette, a deadly habit that attracts 6,000 new teen smokers every day. In fact, smoking claims more lives than AIDS, traffic accidents, murders, and illegal drugs put together.

Are you ready to do your part to help put out the fire caused by tobacco smoke and the use of other tobacco products among teens? Click on the button that will print out your worksheet. Next, recruit at least four classmates to join you in a media blitz--a whirlwind campaign to educate other teens in your school and community about the dangers of tobacco use. Each team member will arrange to visit one of the Web sites listed below under Health Links, then work jointly with other team members to complete the worksheet.
