Cloud Gazing—Art in the Sky
At this fun site you’ll not only see mares in the clouds, as described in Lowell’s poem, but you’ll also see dogs, cats, dinosaurs, and scary shapes! Select one of the cloud photographs and create your own poem using three types of figurative language: metaphor, simile, and personification.

Chinese Calendar
The title of "Tiger Year" comes from the Chinese calendar, an ancient system based on the cycles of the moon. Take a look at the animal that rules the year you were born by clicking on that year. Do you feel the description accurately reflects your personality? Create a poster illustrating the described traits of people born during your year.
