At this site, the University of Portsmouth has created a primary-source archive of fable illustrations. Click on Illustrations to La Fontaine to view an edition of La Fontaine’s fables that has been called "one of the great monuments of the French illustrated book." Spend a few minutes viewing some of the other work on this site and then create your own illustration for "The Oak and the Reed." Try to imitate the design style of one of the illustrators here or create a unique style of your own.
