The Going Rate

Take turns taking and recording each other's pulse. Place the fingers of one hand on your partner's wrist, just below his or her palm. Looking at a watch with a second hand, count how many times you feel a pulse in 1 minute. Three readings should be taken for each partner: while sitting, while standing, and immediately after jogging in place for 1 minute. Working together, draw and label a vertical axis and horizontal axis for a line graph. In turn, each partner draws three dots in the graph to stand for his or her pulse rate for each situation. Each partner then connects his or her points. Finally, decide on a title for your graph.
