Beanbag Toss

Use masking tape to make a number line on the floor that is a little over 6 feet long. Make arrowheads at both ends. Make a tick mark at the left end and then make a tick mark at every foot. From left to right label the tick marks "15," "15.5," "16," "16.5," "17," "17.5," "18." Also, place a small piece of tape 5 feet below the number line. Finally, label the sections of a spinner "15," "16," "17," and "18."

In turn, each group member spins the spinner and, standing behind the 5-foot line, tosses the beanbag toward the number line. Try to hit a number on (or above or below) the number line that rounds to the number on the spinner when rounded to the nearest whole number. An accurate toss is worth 1 point. Try to have the most points after several rounds.
