Counter Plot |
Label the sections of a spinner with the digits 0-9. Use masking tape to make a number line on the floor. Make a line that is a little less than 5 feet long, and then add arrowheads to both ends. Make a tick mark at the left end and place tick marks every 6 inches. Using index cards, label the tick marks 0-9.
In turn, each group member spins the spinner and places a counter above the number line to show the result. Each group member should have at least two spins. Which digit occurs most frequently on your line plot? Is there an outlier? a cluster?
Compare your results with those of other groups.
