The Plot Remains the Same |
Label equal sections of one spinner "2" and "3." This spinner gives the digits in tens place. Label equal sections of a second spinner with the digits 0 through 9. This spinner gives the digits in ones place.
Each partner spins one of the spinners at the same time, and the resulting two-digit number is recorded on a sheet of paper. After fifteen numbers have been generated in this way, each partner constructs a box-and-whisker plot on a separate sheet of paper to describe the data.
In turn, each partner then generates fifteen additional numbers by spinning both spinners himself or herself. The partner who can add more of these additional numbers to the original data sets without changing the box-and-whisker plot is the winner.
