Process of Elimination |
Make one set of cards containing the polynomials shown below. Shuffle the cards and divide them evenly. Then make a set of cards containing the terms shown below. Shuffle the cards and divide them evenly.
One partner places a polynomial card face up. The other partner selects from his or her hand cards showing like terms for the terms in the polynomial on the first partner's card. This partner then uses these terms to write a polynomial that will be subtracted from the polynomial on the first partner's card. The object is to eliminate terms in the difference. Award yourself 1 point for each term you eliminate through subtraction of the two polynomials. Continue in this way, taking turns going first, until both partners run out of cards. The partner with more points wins.
