Get Sets

Copy onto cards the fractions, decimals, and percents shown below, one per card. Shuffle the cards and place them face down in a pile. Each player takes six cards.

The object of the game is to get rid of all of the cards in your hand by forming sets of three cards that name the same number. For example, cards with , 0.5, and 50% would form one set.

Each player removes from his or her hand any set of three matching cards. Decide which group member will go first. The first player takes the top card from the pile and decides whether to keep it or to discard it by placing it face up next to the pile. Since no player may have more than six cards in his or her hand, it may be necessary to place one of the cards in your hand face up in the discard pile if you keep a card from the pile. Continue, with each group member drawing a card and removing sets of three cards, until one group member has played all of his or her cards.
