Letter Perfect

Write the letters A, M, E, L, S on cards, one letter per card.

How many different two-letter combinations of the letters on the cards are there? Use the cards to help you make a list of all of the possibilities.

How many two-letter words can be made with the letters A, M, E, L, and S? Look at your list and use a dictionary.

Repeat the activity for three- and four-letter combinations and words. Compare your results with those of other groups.
