A First-Class Activity

In 1992, the cost of mailing a letter was $0.29 for the first ounce and $0.23 for each additional ounce (or fraction of an ounce) up to 11 ounces.

It is often helpful to know how much it will cost to mail an envelope containing more than three or four sheets of paper. Copy the table below. Then complete the table to show how many sheets of paper plus an envelope weigh 1 ounce, 2 ounces, 3 ounces, and so on and how much letters that weight from 1 ounce to 11 ounces cost to mail. What equation will you use to determine the costs?
