Seeing Red |
Each partner places a total of thirty counters in a paper bag. Use both red and white counters. Do not let your partner see how many of each color you are putting in your bag.
Each partner takes five counters from the other partner's bag. Use the number of red counters out of five to predict the total number of red counters in your partner's bag. Put the counters back in the bag. Then repeat the activity using ten counters as your random sample. Use the number of red counters out of ten to predict the total number of red counters. How close were your predictions?
