How Do You See It? |
Use newspapers, the Internet, or an almanac to gather data that could be displayed in a bar graph or histogram. On a sheet of paper, list and then describe your data. Then make a bar graph or histogram of the data. Check your histogram using a calculator.
When you are sure that your bar graph or histogram is drawn correctly, make a larger version of your graph on poster board. Make your graph colorful and be sure to include all necessary labels. Then write 3 questions that could be answered using your graph.
When all groups have finished, trade graphs, data lists, and questions with another group. Write down your answers to the other group's questions on a separate sheet of paper. If you find any errors, either with their graph or with their questions, indicate this on your answer page. Return each graph, question set, and data list. Correct any errors found and then present your graph and questions set to the entire class.
