Midpoint Measuring |
Draw a number line. Label the integers -5 through 5 on the number line. (Space each integer about 1 inch apart.) Use a ruler to make sure the integers are spaced equally.
Player 1 begins by finding the midpoint between any two points. Then player 1 will roll the number cube. If player 1 rolls a 1, 3, or 5, then player 1 will give the midpoint as a fraction. If player 1 rolls a 2, 4, or 6, then player 1 will find the midpoint and list it as a decimal. Player 1 should label the point on the number line. Player 2 will then find the midpoint between any two points, roll the number cube, and label the point on the number line. Play several rounds.
