Find the population of the United States.

Each group member selects a different U.S. state to research. Each group member then finds the population of the state he or she selected, as well as the population of its capital city.

Answer the following questions.

  1. What percent of the population of the state you selected is the population of its capital city?
  2. What percent of the population of the United States is the population of the state you selected?
  3. What percent of the population of each of the states selected by the other group members is the population of the state you selected?
