Copy onto cards the numbers shown below, one number per card. Shuffle the cards and place them face down in a pile. Label the sections of one spinner "4," "5," "6," "7," "8," "9." These numbers tell the number of terms a sequence should have. Label equal sections of another spinner "Arithmetic" and "Geometric."
One partner selects two cards and decides which number to use as the first term in his or her sequence and which to use as the common difference or ratio. Then this partner spins both spinners to find the number of terms and the type of sequence to write using the numbers on the cards. The other partner repeats the procedure. The partner with the greater last term wins the round. Play at least three rounds.
