Group Activity Cards

Numbers
and Operations

Number of players: 2
Materials: Index cards, spinner
Get to the Point

Copy onto cards the expressions shown below, one per card. On the back of each card write the number of the expression. Place the cards in a pile, face down in numerical order. Label equal sections of a spinner "1," "2," "3," "4." Decide which partner will be player 1 and which will be player 2.

In turn, each partner spins the spinner. He or she then turns over the top card and places a decimal point in the divisor so that the divisor has the number of decimal places shown on the spinner. Both partners divide their expressions and compare quotients. The player with the greater quotient wins the round. Continue in the same way, until all of the cards have been played.
