Group Activity Cards

Use groups of 4.
Materials: Isometric dot paper, ruler, 12 index cards
A 3-D Experience

Give each group member three index cards. On each card, write the description for a three-dimensional figure. Include the dimensions of the shape--length, width, and height. For some figures you may only need to indicate the height of the figure. Include a sketch on the card with each dimension labeled where appropriate.

Example: triangular prism 2 units high

Figure

Then, shuffle the cards and lay them face down in the middle of the table.

Player 1 begins by drawing a card and describing to the player on his or her right how to draw this figure. For example, player 1 may say that the figure has a triangular base and is 2 units high. Player 2 must draw the figure on the dot paper.

Continue playing until all of the cards are used.
