Group Activity Cards

Problem
  Solving

Use groups of 4.
Materials: Index cards
Jumbled Numbers

Each group member takes an index card and turns it so that the longer sides are at the top and bottom. Each group member then draws a vertical line down the middle of the card and writes a two-digit number with the digit in tens place to the left of the line and the digit in ones place to the right of the line. Finally, each group member cuts his or her card along the line and cuts one of the corners off the cards with digits in the tens place.

Working as a group, solve the following problem: How many different two-digit numbers can you form using the cards you made? (Hint: Use your cards to make an organized list of all the possibilities.)
