Cube Designs

Decide who will be player 1, player 2, player 3, and player 4. Players 1 and 2 will be one team and players 3 and 4 will be another team. Each player takes 20 cubes.

Players 2 and 4 turn their backs to their partners. Then, players 1 and 3 each take their 20 cubes and create a three-dimensional figure for the other team. After swapping figures, players 1 and 3 are given 5 minutes to sketch the top, side, and front views of their assigned figure. These diagrams are then given to their partners. Players 2 and 4 must keep their backs turned to the actual three-dimensional figures until the end of the round. File folders can be used as a screen to help hide each figure from view.

The goal is for players 2 and 4 to reconstruct their assigned three-dimensional figure using their partner's diagrams. Set a time limit of 5 minutes for this construction. At the end of the 5 minutes, compare the two figures. The group or groups whose figures match each receive one point.

Take turns drawing the diagrams and reconstructing the figures. Play several rounds.
