Group Activity Cards

Use groups of 3.
Materials: 6 number cubes (2 white, 2 red, 1 blue, 1 yellow), paper, calculator
Finding Factors

Let each white number cube represent a 1's place digit, each red a 10's place digit, the blue a 100's place digit, and the yellow a 1,000's place digit. Group one white, one red, one blue, and one yellow number cube together. Place the remaining cubes in a group together.

Play begins with the first player rolling the set of 4 cubes together. After recording this 4-digit number, the player then rolls the remaining 2 cubes and records the resulting 2-digit number. The first player then makes a guess as to whether or not the second number is a factor of the first number and explains his or her reasoning. Finally, the other two players check this guess using a calculator. A correct guess is awarded one point.

Continue taking turns. Play several rounds recording your numbers, guesses, and whether the second number was a factor of the first number. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
