Group Activity Cards

Problem
  Solving

Number of players: 2
Materials: Index cards
Process of Elimination

Draw a circle on each of ten index cards. Fill in a circle on five cards only. Mix the cards thoroughly and divide them evenly.

Using the symbols on your cards, write a pattern such as Figure on a separate sheet of paper. Do not let your partner see the pattern. Take turns trying to guess each other's pattern. On your turn write a pattern such as the one above on a sheet of paper and show it to your partner. Your partner writes the number of symbols whose position in his or her pattern you guessed and hands the sheet of paper back to you. Try to be the first to guess the pattern. (Hint: The symbols on the cards in your hand should allow you to eliminate some possibilities because you know that there are five cards with the Figure symbol and five cards with the Figure symbol.)
