X-cellent Predictions

Cut each of fifty index cards into 3 equal pieces. Divide the pieces evenly. (Each partner gets seventy-five pieces.) Without letting your partner see, make an X on some of the pieces. Then place all of your pieces in a paper bag.

In turn, each partner selects ten pieces from the other partner's bag. Use the number of pieces that are marked with an X out of ten pieces to predict the total number of pieces that your partner marked. How close was your prediction?
