Each group member copies the problems below onto a sheet of paper.
The table below shows the air distances between certain world cities. The distances are given in statute miles (a statute mile is a mile in the air). You will need to refer to the table to solve the problems below. Try to be the first to solve all of the problems.
1. 
Which would be a longer flight: Chicago to New York to Paris or Chicago to Los Angeles to Honolulu? 
2. 
Suppose that every Monday morning you fly from Los Angeles to San Francisco and that every Friday night you fly back to Los Angeles. If you do this every week for one year, how many miles will you have flown? 
3. 
If you are flying in an airplane that flies about 600 miles per hour, about how long will a flight from San Francisco to Tokyo be?
