Group Activity Cards
Use groups of 2.
Materials: Grid paper, ruler, compass, paper clips

The Game is Yours
In this activity, you will be designing a game with a given probability of winning. You will also test the probability of winning the game.
Each group is assigned one of the following shapes: circle, triangle, trapezoid, parallelogram, or rectangle. Some groups may have the same shape. Next, each group creates a game where the probability of winning is 4 to 6. (Refer to Lesson 107A in your textbook for ideas.) A group must use the shape they were given, grid paper, and paper clips to create the game. Each group should write the rules for their game.
Each group then records 10 tests of their game as samples for determining the experimental probability of winning the game. (Refer to Lesson 107A for an example of how to gather the sample data.)
Finally, each group will share their game with the class. They will demonstrate the game, explain the rules, and show the experimental probability when the game was tested.
