Group Activity Cards

Use groups of 4.
Materials: Index cards, cardboard, scissors, stapler

Each group member draws on cardboard a figure no larger than the square below and then cuts the figure out.

Trace your figure on an index card in the position indicated below. Trace the figure on a second card, slightly to the right of its position on the first card. Continue in this way, sliding the figure slightly to the right each time before tracing it. Stop when you reach the right edge of a card. Stack your cards from top to bottom in the order in which you made them. Staple the cards together along the left edge. Flip quickly through the pages of your "book" so that the figure appears to move from left to right. Turn the book over and repeat the activity. Use a different figure or cause the original figure to "move" differently. Trade flip books with the other group members.
