Choose Sides

Write the numbers 1 through 30 on cards, one number per card. Shuffle the cards and place them face down in a pile.

Each group member takes five cards. In turn, each group member removes from his or her hand any three cards showing the lengths of three sides of a right triangle and replaces them with cards from the pile. If you don't have three cards showing the lengths of three sides of a right triangle, your turn may consist of trading in one or more cards for cards from the pile. Place cards that you trade in at the bottom of the pile. Continue in the same way until no cards remain in the pile. The group member with the most sets of three cards is the winner.
