Label equal sections of a spinner "2%," "3%," "4%," "5%," "6%," "10%."
Suppose that each group member has $100 to invest in a different mutual fund over a period of two years. (A mutual fund is an organization that accepts money from individual investors and invests the combined amount in things like stocks and bonds.)
Each group member writes a period of time in months between 1 month and 24 months on one index card and an amount between $1 and $100 on a second card. One group member then spins the spinner. Each group member computes the amount his or her investment is worth at this rate or interest
Each group member can continue to "invest" until he or she "runs out" of time. (In other words, the sum of the amounts of time you write must equal 24 months.)
Determine which group member has made the most money after 24 months.
