Give It a Shot

Label equal sections of one spinner "Score" and "No Score." Label equal sections of a second spinner "2," "3," "4," "5," "6," "7."

Work in pairs. This activity simulates a two-on-two basketball game. Each group member spins the 2 through 7 spinner to determine how many two-point field goals he or she will attempt in the "game." To "shoot," each group member spins the "Score/No Score" spinner. If you spin "Score," your team gets 2 points. If you spin "No Score," your team gets 0 points. Whenever possible, teams should alternate shots and partners should take turns shooting. When the game is over, calculate the percent of attempted field goals each player and each team made.
