Gone Fishing

Copy onto cards the numbers and equations shown below. Then decide which partner will be the dealer.

Play a game of "Go Fish." The dealer shuffles the cards, deals five cards to each partner, and places the remaining cards face down in a pile.

Each partner removes any pairs from his or her hand. (A pair is an equation and its solution.) In turn, partners try to make additional pairs by asking each other questions about the cards they are holding. If you guess a card in your partner's hand, take the card, remove the pair from your hand, and ask another question. If you do not guess correctly, take another card from the pile. If you can make a pair with this card, remove the pair from your hand. The partner who makes the most pairs is the winner.
