Geometry

Number of players: 2
Materials: Index cards, spinners
Try Angles

Copy onto cards the angle measures shown below, one measure per card. Shuffle the cards and place them face down in a pile. Label equal sections of a spinner "Acute," "Right," and "Obtuse."

Each partner takes five cards. One partner then spins the spinner. If possible, remove from your hand three cards containing angle measures that have a sum of 180° and that describe the type of triangle shown on the spinner. Replace cards removed from your hand with cards from the pile and award yourself 1 point. If you cannot form the type of triangle indicated on the spinner with any combination of the angle measures on the cards in you hand, you may trade some or all of your cards for cards from the pile before the next spin. Continue in the same way, taking turns at the spinner, until one partner has 10 points. (Shuffle and reuse cards that have been discarded.)
