Is that Golden?

In this activity, you will look for examples of the golden ratio. Recall that the golden ratio is about 1.6. Try to find examples at school, at home or any other location. The ratio does not have to be exactly 1.6 but should be reasonably close. Some examples of places to find the golden ratio are book covers, food boxes, or windows. After finding examples, you should choose your five best examples. List these examples on a sheet of paper. Next to the item, list the measurements and show the golden ratio.

Create a poster that explains the golden ratio and describes the examples that your group found. Share the posters with the entire class. Did anyone find the same golden ratio items?
