Designing Nets

Each group member should find an example of a rectangular prism. This example can be brought from home or can be found in the classroom. Make a sketch of the net for your object on a sheet of paper. Then, measure your object and use these measurements to make a net of the object on construction paper. Cut out each net, fold it along its interior lines, and tape the edges together. How closely do your nets resemble your original objects in size and shape?

Display your sketches and your objects around the classroom.
