Numbers
and Operations

Number of players: 2
Materials: Spinners, counters
Are You Positive?

On a large sheet of paper (or several sheets taped together), copy the game board shown below. Make sure that a counter can fit inside each square. Label the sections of one spinner with the following integers: -1, 1, 2, -2. Label the sections of a second spinner with the following integers: 0, -1, -2, -3.

Each partner places a counter on the "Start" square. In turn, each partner spins both spinners and finds the product of the resulting numbers. For a positive product, move your counter to the right. For a negative product, move your counter to the left. Try to be the first to reach the last square on the right. If you land on or go past the last square on the left, you automatically lose.
